KRFC, RadioFreeColorado, celebrates a decade of webcasting

KRFC, a founding station on Live365, began webcasting on July 11, 2000. Through yesterday:

• 85,464 streams have been launched
• the average listener tunes in for about 102 minutes
• our station page has been visited 68,572 times
• listener hours since inception exceeded 145,217 hours
• 1,706 people have preset KRFC as one of their favorite broadcasts on Live365, the world's largest internet radio network
• every minute of every day for the last 10 years, someone has been listening to KRFC

To date, KRFC has featured the work of 431 independent or emerging artists. Some had the support of small independent labels; the majority were self-produced and unsigned. These artists are the heart of KRFC.

KRFC, RadioFreeColorado was consistently Live365's number one rated freeform station broadcasting in lo-fi (i.e., at 16 kbps or lower) until 2010. Unlike other broadcasters, we don't draw solely from a pool of Americana, alt-country, or American Idol artists, then call ourselves a freeform station. KRFC is true freeform.
