Lisa Dewey

I became a Lisa Dewey fan after seeing her open for Mekons in 2007.

From a recent news release:
  • "...I have a co-write ("Stars Are Crazy") on the upcoming Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) CD, Seeds We Sow, due out September 6, 2011.
  • " The song, "Stars Are Crazy," will also be included on the DVD Lindsey Buckingham Live at The Saban Theatre.
  • "Purchase of the CD, DVD or digital file of the song, "Stars Are Crazy," will directly benefit my band [and]...fund the release of the next Lisa Dewey CD..."

Why the KRFC blog has been so woefully foreshortened lately

Blogger is accepting no blame, but all images posted since 2006 have
mysteriously disappeared. Blogger blames Picasa. Picasa says "Blogger
who?" So we've lost some steam, remain angry and resentful, but are
slowly reconstructing the blog. We've never stopped uploading music, of
course, and shortly will have a recap of all the artists KRFC has
featured over the last few months.

Mekons, Swedish American Hall, San Francisco

This evening, my lovely spouse and I spent "A Quiet Night in With the Mekons," front row, dead center; not ten feet away from the band's modestly elevated stage. Brilliant. The band is celebrating their 30th anniversary and promoting their first album of new material since 2002, Natural.

I've included a link to nyctaper's recording of the Mekons' October 3rd show at New York's Blender Theatre at Gramercy. With the exception of the order of the encores, it's the same setlist they used in California.
